How it works
- Loop it. Your 8 bars loop in the DAW — or drop stems or a MIDI loop into the standalone or the web app.
- Pick a name. Search 2,413 artists, producers and genres and choose a mode: every genre can be arranged several ways.
- Press play. Unloop performs the whole record over your own audio — intros, hooks, drop-outs, 808 cuts, stutter builds, tape stops, beat switches — in time with your project.
- Shape it. Move, copy, split and fade clips, ride faders, draw automation, lock what you like and reroll the rest.
- Take it. Drag out the arranged record as WAV, AIFF, FLAC or MP3 — mix or stems — or as a multi-track MIDI song template.
The charter
- No AI. A deterministic, rule-based planner and classic signal processing — enforced by a build gate.
- Free today. No tier, no trial, no account, no key, no ads — though future versions may be sold.
- Offline. No telemetry and no network code in the plugin or the standalone.
- Your sound, arranged — never replaced. Unloop never writes new music into your song, and never recreates a specific song's arrangement.
The road to 1.0
One ladder, the same one the build follows. There are no downloads here before v1.0.0.
| Version | Build | What lands |
|---|---|---|
| v0.1.0 | F — Foundation | The plugin (CLAP, VST3, AU) and the standalone load and pass audio; the editor shell, design tokens, 18 languages, every quality gate, local CI on Windows and Linux, plugin validators, browser tests. |
| v0.2.0 | P — The Planner | Any of 2,413 artists, producers and genres becomes a deterministic arrangement plan, with several modes per genre. |
| v0.3.0 | M — The magic moment | One instance on a looping beat performs the whole record live — clicks-free, zero latency, in sync with your DAW. |
| v0.4.0 | R — Roles & the Conductor | An instance per part, conducted as one record, with the full console. |
| v0.5.0 | C — Capture, preview & print | Capture, preview inside Unloop, print to WAV/AIFF/FLAC/MP3, drag out, loop projects, and the Loop Library — browse, audition and cut your loops, reopen recent projects — the first complete product: the MVP. |
| v0.6.0 | T — The timeline | Move, copy, split and resize clips; fades, faders and automation; lock and reroll; unlimited undo and redo; the arrangement shelf and .unarr files; every edit from the keyboard. Current. |

| v0.8.0 | S — Standalone & web | Stems mode in the standalone and the web app, tempo adhere, the Loop Doctor. |
| v0.9.0 | E — Expression & the Doctor | Re-Dream, synthesized transition FX, beat switches, the Arrangement Doctor, templates, MIDI learn. |
| v0.10.0 | D — The dataset at scale | Every genre in several modes, hundreds of flagship artists and producers, every name resolving honestly. |
| v1.0.0b | H — Beta: hardened | Feature-complete: edge cases, accessibility, 18 languages, performance budgets, installers for three systems. |
| v1.0.0-rc | Release candidate | Reviewed top to bottom with every bug fixed, then tested by hand in real DAWs on every system available — with the complete web app and this site finished. |
